Arad Seyed Mehdi was born in Almere in 2000. He received his BSc in chemistry (2021) as a joint degree at the UvA and the VU. His thesis was about isocyanide synthesis for use in iron-catalyzed carbene transfer reactions with the goal to form spiroindoles, and was carried out under the supervision of prof. dr. E. Ruijter. Arad is currently in the second year of the Chemistry master at the Uva and VU following the Molecular Sciences track. For his master thesis he is joining the Noël research group to work on the formation of acyl fluorides using flow systems.
