Diego Tur de Montis San Gil was born in 2000 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. He obtained his BSc degree in Chemistry at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) in 2022. He carried out his thesis at the Catalysis and Petrochemistry Institute (CSIC-ICP) in Madrid, where he worked under the supervision of Prof. Rufino Navarro in the development of bimetallic Pd/Zn catalysts for the thermal conversion of CO2 to CH3OH. He then moved to Amsterdam to pursue a MSc degree in Chemistry at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), where he graduated cum laude in 2025. His research was supervised by Dr. Sonja Pullen and focused on the development of oxygen-tolerant molecular catalysts for electrochemical CO2 reduction. Afterwards, he became a PhD candidate in the NRG at the same university under the supervision of Prof. Timothy Noël, where he joined the RoboChem team.
