Derk ten Klooster
Derk ten Klooster obtained his B.Sc. degree in Molecular Life Sciences at Wageningen University and Research, where he worked in the Organic Chemistry department under the supervision of Dr. Sidharam Pujari. His thesis focused on synthesizing SuFEx polymers for characterization. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Medicinal Chemistry at Radboud University. As part of his studies, he completed an internship within the Robotlab under Prof. Wilhelm Huck, supervised by William Robinson. During this time, he worked on the characterization of binary surfactant mixtures using Opentrons and employed machine learning to predict mixture behaviour. In January 2026, Derk joined the Noël Research Group at the University of Amsterdam as a Master’s intern working on reinforcement learning for automated mechanistic studies.
