Mattia Lepori, was raised in Empoli, Tuscany (Italy), near Pisa and Florence. He received both his B.Sc. in Chemistry (2019, cum laude) and his M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry (2022, cum laude) from the University of Pisa. During his M.Sc. thesis, he worked on cyclopentannulation strategies for the stereocontrolled synthesis of the isoprostanoid core under the supervision of Prof. Alessandro Mandoli. From October 2022 to April 2026, Mattia pursued his Ph.D. (2026, summa cum laude) at the University of Regensburg under the supervision of Dr. Joshua P. Barham within the Elite Network of Bavaria’s International Doctoral College ‘Photo-electro-catalysis’. There, his research focused on developing novel photocatalytic alkene difunctionalization strategies. In spring 2026, he moved to the University of Amsterdam to join the group of Prof. Timothy Noël as a postdoctoral researcher.
