Xabi Lopez de Pariza , was born in San Sebastian, Spain, where he obtained his BSc in Chemistry and MSc in Polymer Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country. During his MSc, Xabi worked at IBM Research, USA, under the supervision of Dr. James L. Hedrick, focusing on autonomous polymer synthesis platforms. Soon after, he joined the Applied Chemistry and Polymeric Materials group at the University of the Basque Country (POLYMAT/EHU), under the supervision of Prof. Haritz Sardon and Prof. David Mecerreyes. There, Xabi developed non-radical photopolymerization processes for light-based additive manufacturing applications, with a strong focus on the design and implementation of recyclable and reprocessable polymers. After his PhD, he conducted a postdoctoral stay at POLYMAT in collaboration with Wacker Chemie, focused on the development of degradable waterborne emulsion polymers. Currently, he has joined the Noël Research Group as a visiting postdoctoral researcher from the University of the Basque Country, with the goal of implementing autonomous reaction routes for polymer recycling and valorization.
