Runkang Liu

Runkang Liu is a master’s student from ENSCR in Rennes, France. In 2022, he completed a short internship as an analytical technician, focusing on the detection of rare earth elements at Solvay in La Rochelle. In 2023, he joined the lab of Prof. Pablo Rivera-Fuentes at the University of Zurich for four months, working on the development of fluorescent probes for H₂O₂ detection in Gram-negative bacteria under the supervision of PhD student Dorothea Kossmann. In 2024, he decided to take a gap year and joined Janssen Pharmaceutica (now JNJ) in Beerse as an intern. There, he conducted the synthesis of biologically active compounds for preclinical research, specializing in complex macrocyclic compounds. He is currently part of the Noël Research Group, working on carbon monoxide (CO) gas chemistry under the supervision of PhD student Prakash, as part of his end-of-study internship (master’s thesis).
