Sara Stocchetti, born in 1997 in Livorno (Tuscany, Italy), obtained her M.Sc. in Inorganic Chemistry (cum laude) from the University of Pisa in 2023. Her master’s thesis, carried out under the supervision of Prof. Fabio Marchetti, centered on the synthesis of novel diiron aminocarbyne complexes incorporating labile N-donor ligands. During her academic career, she also undertook research at the Czech Advanced Technology and Research Institute – Regional Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials (CATRIN-RCPTM) at Palacký University in Olomouc (Czech Republic), within the group of Prof. Zdeněk Trávníček. This project involved the synthesis of copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes based on the naturally occurring compound lapachol. After completing her degree, she joined the research group of Prof. Francesco Secci at the University of Cagliari as a Ph.D. candidate in the Catalysis Ph.D. Program. Her current research focuses on the light-driven aerobic cleavage of olefins to produce industrially relevant carbonyl compounds. As part of her doctoral studies, she is undertaking a visiting research period in the group of Prof. Noël, where she will work on the arylation of trifluoromethyl-heteroatom anions using Kobayashi reagents.
