Daniele received his MSc degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies (cum laude) at the University of Naples “Federico II” (Italy).  For his Master thesis he worked on the optimisation of the synthesis of a pre-clinical candidate for the treatment of inflammatory pain, under the supervision of Prof. Vincenzo Summa. He then started an internship abroad in the Chemical Genomic Center at the Max Planck Institute (Dortmund, Germany) where he worked on the synthesis of RIBOTACs in the group of Prof. Herbert Waldmann, guided by Dr. Peng Wu. He then became a PhD candidate at the University of Bologna (Italy) under the supervision of Prof. Rita Morigi where he is working on the synthesis of G-quadruplex ligands as potential anti-proliferative small molecules.

For his PhD visiting period he has joined Prof. Noël’s group where he is working on new photocatalytic methodologies using flow chemistry.
