Julian Quévarec was born in 2002 in Quimper (Brittany, France) and grew up in a small village in the region. He obtained a BSc. in chemistry and biology from the University of Grenoble (France) where he worked under the supervision of Dr. Frédéric Minassian on the synthesis of new bis-indoles and dipyrromethanes antibiotics. He then moved to Ecole Polytechnique in Palaiseau (France) for a MSc. in molecular chemistry. After the first year, he participated in a 5-month research project at Syngenta (Stein, Switzerland) to develop a high throughput electrosynthesis device. Julian now joined the NRG for a 6-month research stay leading to his master thesis; he will work on the development of recyclable photocatalysts for C-H activation.
