Volkert Dekkers was born in Castricum, The Netherlands in 2000. He is currently pursuing his BSc in Chemistry as a joint degree at the UvA and VU. During his BSc he spent a research project at the NRG working on the allylation of C(sp3)-H bonds by photocatalytic hydrogen atom transfer. He has now joined the NRG for his BSc thesis to work on the selective photocatalytic alkylation of pyridines in flow under supervision of Jesús San Jose Orduna.
